About the Hug-a-Bub®

The Hug-a-Bub® is the ultimate "stretchy wrap"! These baby carriers are made in Byron Bay, Australia of soft, high-grade 100% cotton jersey, and they are as cute and comfortable as your favorite t-shirt (as they should be, if you're going to wear one day in and day out!). The dominating concerns in the design of the Hug-a-Bub® are comfort (for parent and child), security, and ease of use. The fabric is stretchy enough to allow "popping" of the baby in and out, yet it is supportive enough to keep you comfortably carrying a 25-pounder. The Hug-a-Bub® is narrower than most wraparound carriers for quicker wrapping and spreading, and it is dramatically tapered at the ends, so that your knots are easily tied and not at all bulky. Edges are hemmed for support and a tailored look.

This wrap has a drawstring pocket in the middle, which as we see it has three functions:

  1. it's cute and stylish, contributing to the sporty look of the wrap;
  2. it helps you find the middle of the fabric when you're about to wrap; and most importantly...
  3. it can be used to carry your Hug-a-Bub® when you're not using it. The pocket just turns inside out and the whole wrap fits inside---so neat and compact! Call us neat freaks, but we have really enjoyed this feature on our own Hug-a-Bub®.

The Hug-a-Bub® comes with an excellent instructional DVD.

Special Edition Hug-a-Bub® with Indigenous Design

The special edition Hug-a-Bub® has arrived! The design, created by Australian Aboriginal artist Tex Skuthorpe, symbolizes the responsibility of the world's interconnected communities to care well for their youngest members. Read the artist's own words for a more detailed explanation of the symbolism. We have these Hug-a-Bubs® in mocha (shown) and rose, each with a hazelnut-colored pocket accented by the indigenous design.

A portion of the profits from these special Hug-a-Bubs® supports the work of the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, a private Australian charity.
